Initial Consultation
Available Services
Psychoeducational Assessment – Includes cognitive/intelligence/IQ and achievement testing in order to determine cognitive strengths and weaknesses, as well as current academic levels of functioning. If additional assessment is necessary in order to better understand your child’s learning difficulties, a more specialized evaluation can be conducted (e.g., memory weakness, attentional difficulties, fine motor weakness, etc.). Social, Emotional, Behavioral Assessment – Includes a variety of measures to be completed by the child, parents, and/or teachers in order to determine how the child is functioning socially, emotionally, and behaviorally across settings. This may include clinical interview, behavioral observation, and checklists. Follow-up – After your child has participated in an assessment I will meet with you, the parents, in order to discuss the findings, answer any questions, and review recommendations. School Consultation – If as a result of your child’s assessment it becomes clear that consultation with your child’s school is necessary, I am available to meet with the school to discuss the findings or provide additional consultation.
